Q 1)    Who wrote the poem, Lucy Gray?
The Poem entitled “Lucy Gray” was composed by William Wordsworth. He was one of the major prominent English’s Romantic poets. He was considered the poet of nature because of his great deep concern with natural beauty. He traveled different places which noted for their
charming beauty where he saw different beautiful scenes which were preserved in his memories and he presented them in an artificial and unique which gave the new essence to the poetry. He, with a friend named Samuel Taylor Coleridge initiated the Romantic era with their collaborative creation, Lyrical Ballads, which contained old themes and new subjects.


Q 2)    Who was Lucy Gray?
Lucy Gray was a small, innocent and obedient child and only the offspring of her parent. She was living in the western countryside that’s why she had no neighbors and friend of her age to play with her. According to the poet, there is a lot of living things in form of human, birds, and animals but she was the most marvelous and the most striking obsession whose beauty, innocence and charm were absolutely unparalleled.

Q 3)    Why did Lucy father ask her to go to the town?
Lucy father asked her to go to the town to bring back her mother back because her mother went to the town because of some work and he is predicting by seeing the moon for the storm so he asked her to take lantern for the light and go to the town instantly so she could back before the storm. He did so because he was busy in his work and was expecting that they could come back easily before the storm would come.

Q 4)    Did Lucy’s mother manage to return home and what did Lucy’s parents do afterward?
Lucy went to bring her mother back from the town but unfortunately, she could not reach there because the storm came on earlier before its time and Lucy wandered up and down and lost her way but her mother safely managed to return her home. Afterward, the poor parents searched their daughter far and wide but they could not get her.

Q 5)    How did Lucy’s parent come to know that they have lost their child?
Lucy’s poor parent searched their child far and wide but they could not any sign of her presence so they were disappointed and depresses but suddenly her mother saw her footprints at the edge of the hill which was at downwards so they started to follow them that led them to a wooden bridge. Further, they tracked those footmarks and in the middle of the bridge, they found the bridge broken. Then they got the reality of their daughter’s terrible death which was caused by drowning.

Q 6)    How did Lucy become immortal?
Lucy had become immortal because after her death the people began to believe that she was still a living child who could be seen alone at the break of the day only those who had the deep concern with natural beauty. She was seen by singing a solitary song in the moor, walking rough and smooth and never looked behind.

Q 7)    Describe the tragic event that happened with Lucy Gray?

Lucy Grey was a child who lived along with her parents on Widemoor. One day her mother went to the town for some work but at that day there was a great chance of storm so her father told her to go the town to bring her mother back and suggested to take a lantern with her. She gladly agreed to go and hurriedly went. When she was on the way, unfortunately, storm came before its time and she could not reach the town and lost her way. Her parent desperately searched her whole night but after some effort, she found that she was dead. But still, some people believe that Lucy Gray is alive and sometimes is seen to walk alone over the moor.

    1. death kab hui ye nahi pata, jab uske parents ko lucy nahi mili bohot dhundne ke baad jab uske paun ke nishaan mile bridge pe wo bhi adhe raaste tak to uske parents ne idea lagaya ke wo storm me bridge se ghir gayi
