SAY NOT THE STRUGGLE NAUGHT AVAILETH

Q1. Why should we not say that the struggle is of no use? Briefly describe with the reference of the poem “Say not the struggle naught Availeth.
Ans. In the poem “say not the struggle naught Availeth” the poet Arthur Hough Clough advises us not to be hopeless. We should continue our struggle and not say that struggle is of no use. Sometimes the result of our endeavors is late and we become hopeless that all of our labors wasted. It is not necessary that success will come from the expected side because sometimes it comes from, unexpected directions.
Q2: Describe briefly what different example does the poet gives to sustain his view?
Ans. The poet advises us strictly that we should not stop our work by thinking that labors and wounds are vain. He gives the example of the battlefield that they think they have lost the fight but they are unaware of the other side of the picture that their companions have defeated the enemies.
The poet also gives the example of waves that they strike against the beach but we think that their struggle is useless but far behind they are making inlets which cause the flood.
The last example the poet gives is that of the sun that when the sun rises from the eastern side it not only bright the east but the whole world. It shows that success not only comes from the expected side but sometimes it comes from an unexpected direction.
Q3: Ceaseless endeavor is indispensable for the achievement of success” Discuss this statement with the special reference to the poem “ Say not the struggle naught Availeth”.
Ans. In the poem “say not the struggle naught Availeth “The poet "Arthur Hugh Clough" says that struggle is not fruitless and labor of a man is not wasted. Those who are striving for the betterment of the world should not despair this afford might seems to them to the fruitless but they must remember the continued afford undoubtedly bring success
